Embracing the Journey: Lessons from the Secret Place

First off I want to say I am so happy to be talking with you. It feels like I’m opening up a warm conversation with a dear friend over a cup of tea. Second thing is I'm sorry. I'm hoping that you can be forgiving and understanding that I, just like the rest of us, have been on a journey. I am learning the balance of being in the secret place and sharing from the secret place. I am sure that you have your own journey that you are on and could use someone to do this journey with.

One thing that I am learning is that just like I need community, you need that as well and I am being charged to provide that.

While a lot of good has been happening, a lot of chastisement has occurred from God also. That's what happens in “the secret place”—that quiet, intimate space where God speaks to us and transforms us., in the changing room (where the name of my Facebook group came from). God reveals all the ugly, the dark, the outdated wardrobe we have on and asks us so kindly but stern to take it off. To put on his garments. To put on what looks like him. This place, my friends, is both beautiful and challenging.

One key thing that I have learned and still learning that I want to share with you is to trust the hard process. God has the final destination in his hands so he knows the road to take. Every time we have to get off, he has to reroute our journeys. He never gives up on us. He patiently guides us back to where we need to be.

A lot of good has come from this journey, but there has also been a lot of tough love from God. And you know what? That's okay. It's in those moments of correction and growth that we become more like Him, that we learn to put on His garments and walk in His ways.

I want to encourage you to embrace your journey, with all its highs and lows. Trust the process, even when it's hard. Remember, you're not alone. I'll be back later with more details on this journey that I am on in hopes that it speaks to your journey as well and shines light and gives encouragement to the road ahead. Until next time, remember that you are loved, you are seen, and you are on a journey that is uniquely yours.
